Rise of The Ronin PC Version Struggles – Another Bad Port

Rise of the Ronin: How will it perform on PC If you are a high-end PC gamer and are dreaming of playing Rise of the Ronin at 4K Ultra settings, you might be in for a bit of a shock. Despite top-tier hardware like AMD Ryzen 79800X3D and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 , the game is only able to deliver 64 FPS at 4K resolution. And this too after enabling DLSS + Frame Generation ! That is, the game is not optimized properly and the gameplay is stuttery .

Now imagine, if such a high-end PC can’t run it well, what will happen to it on a mid-range GPU like the RTX 4070 ?

PS5 vs PC: What’s the difference?

Now coming to PlayStation 5 , the game isn’t perfect there either. I played it on PS5 Pro and the graphics didn’t look that great. But at least it runs smoothly and there are no major FPS drops or stuttering .

That is, if you want to enjoy games without any problems, then PS5 can be a better option. Especially if you want to play new games on day-1 without crashing or stuttering.

PC Gaming vs Console Gaming: Which One to Choose?

Now the biggest question arises here – should I buy PC or console?

Benefits of PC gaming:

Mods support – fun customization
Can play previous games as well – backward compatibility
Cheap games – discounts from websites like Green Man Gaming
Better performance (if the game is optimized)

Advantages of Console Gaming:

Games are better optimized – less stuttering and crashes
No hassle of driver updates
No upgrades required after purchase

If you don’t want to spend too much and want to play games without any tension, then console is the best option. But if you want to play back-catalogue games, need mods and are fond of tinkering with the settings, then PC would be better.

Bad launch conditions of PC games!

It’s nothing new that PC games have poor launch conditions.

game nameProblems at launch
The Callisto ProtocolSevere stuttering, called the “Stuttering Protocol”
Hogwarts LegacyFrame drops and loading issues
Spider-Man 2 (PC Port)Crashing and poor performance
Jedi SurvivorGame drops to 16 FPS!
The Last of Us Part 1 (PC Port)Absolutely terrible PC port, unplayable

Every year it happens that big games on PC are launched in poor condition. And this time Rise of the Ronin also seems to be joining this list.

My opinion: what to do?

If you want to play games on day-1 then buy a console.
If you like modding and back-catalog games then PC is good.
If your budget is limited then PS5 will give more value.

My Verdict: It would make more sense to get a console right now, because the condition of games on PC is getting worse.
