Is Fishing not as fun as it used to be? Find out why

The declining popularity of the fish game: A true opinion Fish was once a very special and popular game. When the game was launched, it was called “Passion Project”. But now it seems that the developers have stopped paying attention to this game. In this blog, I will discuss some of the major problems associated with the Fish game, including bots and exploiters, pay to win model, bad updates, secret fishes, and injustice to content creators . Also, we will know what the future of Fish can be.

1. Bots and exploiters spoil the fun of the game

The biggest problem in Fish is bots and exploiters . These people are ruining the real fun of the game. If the game had a good anti-cheat system , about 20% to 30% of the players would leave the game immediately. This number may look bad, but it would directly improve the atmosphere of the game .

Exploiters often steal players’ hard-earned fish like Megalodon, Kraken, and Scylla . Once, my own Moai fish was stolen by an exploiter right in front of me, and I couldn’t do anything!

If developers want, they can implement anti-cheat systems in very simple ways. For example:

Possible anti-cheat systemAdvantage
Banning players who repeatedly catch fish instantlyStopping the Exploiters
Checking on multiple anglers in a flashCatching the bots
Tracking the unlikely events of catching special fishPreventing Cheating

But, the developers of Fish probably don’t want to pay attention to this.

2. Pay to win system ruins the game

Many people say that Fish is not a pay to win game , but if we look at the microtransactions , it is completely after the money.

Now many money spending items have been added to Fish like Bundles, Bobbers, Limited Skins, Server Luck, Credits, Game Passes.

The worst thing was – Eggs. This feature seemed like this game was trying to be Pet Simulator 99.

In addition, bots and lanterns were added unnecessarily in the 64x Server Luck Bundle to earn more money. The developers knew that everyone just wants server luck , but they planned to earn money by forcefully adding extra items .

3. Bad updates hurt the game

When I started playing Fish, it had only 5000 players . But now this number has increased to more than 2,00,000 . However, some updates spoiled the fun of this game.

(1) Ancient Isles Update

This update was very boring because very difficult conditions were set to get Crafting Rods . You had to reach a particular level , which was quite troublesome.

(2) Northern Expedition Update

This was probably the worst update . Its main problems were:

  • There was no Innkeeper (Save Point) , so dying repeatedly required the entire journey to be restarted.
  • The Mountain Climbing System was very weird, and dying would cause the entire game to go back.
  • Heaven’s Rod was great, but it was made useless in the Fishmas update just 2 weeks later .

(3) Mariana’s Veil Update

This update was the most frustrating as it required a long journey and there was no means of fast travel . Also, Anglers would teleport players out of the map , forcing the game to restart.

4. The Useless System of Secret Fishes and Moobies

The number of secret fishes in Fish has become more than that of exotic fishes ! And the biggest problem is that the probability of catching them is very low .

  • To make boots, three secret items are required , which are very difficult to find.
  • The spawn rate of Moby Fish is so low that even if you play continuously for 3 hours, hardly 6 spawn .

This is such a bad system that even exploiters cannot crack it .

6. What will be the future of fish?

Fish could die in the next 5 months if the developers don’t do something great. If they:
Bring quality updates
Reduce the pay to win model
Make the game balanced

So Fish can survive for the next 1 year . But if this situation continues, then this game will slowly end .

The real problem with Fish is that it ‘s just a fishing game , and there ‘s nothing special about it . If Nate had continued working on the game, it might have been better, but now it’s just a commercial project .
